Pool parties are a fantastic way for people of all ages to come together and have a great time. Whether it’s kids splashing around or adults enjoying the sun, these gatherings offer fun for everyone. However, to make sure your pool party is a memorable and safe experience, there are a few important tips to keep in mind.
At Fizazzle, safety is our top priority. We provide a certified lifeguard with all our pool programs to ensure everyone stays safe in the water. Additionally, we maintain a strict staff-to-child ratio of 1 staff member for every 5 children, ensuring close supervision at all times.
However, parents should also take precautions by ensuring that any child who cannot swim or isn’t a confident swimmer arrives at the party equipped with personal flotation devices, such as armbands or life vests.
To set up pool floats and other inflatable toys, we’ll need access to a power outlet near the pool. Some floats are too large to fit through doorways once inflated, so having a power source close by is crucial. Please note that we do not provide extension cords, so if the nearest outlet is far from the pool area, we kindly ask that you provide an extension.
For the safety and comfort of all children, Fizazzle staff are not permitted to assist with changing kids into or out of swimwear. This is part of our strict child protection policy. We recommend that parents ensure their children are dressed and ready for the pool before arriving at the party. Additionally, our staff are not allowed to enter the changing rooms while children are inside.
While no one wants bad weather to interfere with their pool party, it’s always best to be prepared. In the event of a thunderstorm or heavy rain, Fizazzle will adapt the party to an indoor setting. However, we’ll need your assistance to make this transition smooth. Since the original party plan was for the pool, we don’t typically bring microphones or speakers. If the party moves indoors, having a sound system and microphone available will help create a lively atmosphere and ensure the kids can hear instructions clearly.
To avoid last-minute stress, always book an indoor space as a backup plan in case of a thunderstorm. It’s better to be prepared and have a place where the children can continue to play safely. If an indoor space isn’t available, look for a large covered area where the kids can gather and play games. No indoor or covered space available? consider some solutions – Rent a Gazebo or buy a tarpaulin and make a shelter.
Thunderstorms often bring cooler, windy weather, so it’s important to make sure the kids stay warm if the party moves indoors. Turn off the air conditioning in the indoor space to prevent the children from getting too cold as they transition from the pool.
Sun protection is crucial, especially during outdoor activities. Make sure to bring sunscreen to protect everyone from harmful UV rays. It’s a small step that can make a big difference in keeping the party safe and enjoyable.
Pool parties are all about fun for everyone, regardless of swimming ability. If your child isn’t able to swim or isn’t confident in the water, please be sure to bring their floaties so they can enjoy the pool safely.
I’m often surprised by how many parents bring children to pool parties knowing they can’t swim, yet don’t provide them with floats. It makes me wonder—if you know your child can’t swim and it’s a pool party, why wouldn’t you bring floaties? It’s something I find puzzling.
I have two children, both strong swimmers, but even at a pool party, I still make them wear arm floats or a swim ring for extra peace of mind. As parents, we know our kids best, and it’s our responsibility to keep them safe. Yes, there may be a lifeguard present, but if your child can’t swim, they won’t be able to fully enjoy the fun without proper safety gear.
Inflatable rings! If you, as the host, want peace of mind and are concerned that some parents may forget to bring floats for their kids who can’t swim, consider giving each child an inflatable ring as a return gift. Not only does it ease your worries, but it also takes care of the party favors in a fun and practical way!
At Fizazzle, our goal is to make your pool party a stress-free and fun experience. If things don’t go exactly as planned, don’t worry—we’re here to help! Whether it’s dealing with unexpected weather or managing the flow of the event, our team is ready to support you in making the party a success.
By following these tips, you can ensure that your pool party is not only fun but also safe and well-prepared for any situation. Let’s work together to create a memorable experience for everyone!
