Top tips for a successful Pool party.

Pool parties are a fantastic way for people of all ages to come together and have a great time. Whether it’s kids splashing around or adults enjoying the sun, these gatherings offer fun for everyone. However, to make sure your pool party is a memorable and safe experience, there are a few important tips to keep in mind.

1. Safety First

At Fizazzle, safety is our top priority. We provide a certified lifeguard with all our pool programs to ensure everyone stays safe in the water. Additionally, we maintain a strict staff-to-child ratio of 1 staff member for every 5 children, ensuring close supervision at all times.

However, parents should also take precautions by ensuring that any child who cannot swim or isn’t a confident swimmer arrives at the party equipped with personal flotation devices, such as armbands or life vests.

2. Power Supply for Inflating Floats

To set up pool floats and other inflatable toys, we’ll need access to a power outlet near the pool. Some floats are too large to fit through doorways once inflated, so having a power source close by is crucial. Please note that we do not provide extension cords, so if the nearest outlet is far from the pool area, we kindly ask that you provide one.

3. Changing into Swimwear

For the safety and comfort of all children, Fizazzle staff are not permitted to assist with changing kids into or out of swimwear. This is part of our strict child protection policy. We recommend that parents ensure their children are dressed and ready for the pool before arriving at the party. Additionally, our staff are not allowed to enter the changing rooms while children are inside.

4. Be Prepared for Inclement Weather

While no one wants bad weather to interfere with their pool party, it’s always best to be prepared. In the event of a thunderstorm or heavy rain, Fizazzle will adapt the party to an indoor setting. However, we’ll need your assistance to make this transition smooth. Since the original party plan was for the pool, we don’t typically bring microphones or speakers. If the party moves indoors, having a sound system and microphone available will help create a lively atmosphere and ensure the kids can hear instructions clearly.

5. Indoor Space for Backup

To avoid last-minute stress, always book an indoor space as a backup plan in case of a thunderstorm. It’s better to be prepared and have a place where the children can continue to play safely. If an indoor space isn’t available, look for a large covered area where the kids can gather and play games.

6. Keep the Kids Warm

Thunderstorms often bring cooler, windy weather, so it’s important to make sure the kids stay warm if the party moves indoors. Turn off the air conditioning in the indoor space to prevent the children from getting too cold as they transition from the pool.

7. Sunscreen is Essential

Sun protection is crucial, especially during outdoor activities. Make sure to bring sunscreen to protect everyone from harmful UV rays. It’s a small step that can make a big difference in keeping the party safe and enjoyable.

8. Floats May Burst

While we do our best to ensure that all the floats are in top condition, sometimes, despite our best efforts, a float might burst unexpectedly—even at the beginning of your party. Unfortunately, once a float is damaged, there maybe nothing we can do to fix it on the spot.  While we do bring float patch tape it may not hold up but we will try.  And  while it’s disappointing to lose a float, we encourage everyone to stay positive and continue enjoying the party. We like to think of it as a farewell to the float—RIP, until we meet again!

9. Some Kids May Not Want to Participate in Games

It’s completely normal for some kids to be less interested in the games or activities planned during the party. Every child is different, and some may prefer to watch, relax, or engage in other activities. The most important thing is that they’re having fun in their own way. We encourage a relaxed atmosphere where children feel free to participate as much or as little as they like. As long as they’re enjoying themselves, that’s all that matters!

10. Be Prepared for Accidents—Slippery Floors and Falls

Accidents can happen, especially around the pool where the ground can become slippery. Whether it’s a small slip or a more serious fall, it’s important to be vigilant and prepared. Ensure that all safety precautions are in place, such as non-slip mats and clear walkways. Encourage everyone to walk, not run, near the pool, and keep an eye on wet areas where slips are more likely to occur. In the event of a fall, our team is trained to respond quickly and provide any necessary first aid. Safety is always our top priority, but a little extra caution can go a long way in preventing accidents
